How to secure WhatsApp

Enable Two-Step Verification in WhatsApp Settings > Account. This adds a PIN that's required if anyone tries to register your number on a new device.

Never share the six-digit verification code you receive by SMS — this is the single most common way WhatsApp accounts are taken over.

Check Settings > Linked Devices periodically and remove anything you don't recognise.

Be cautious of urgent money requests, even from contacts — verify by calling them directly if something feels off.
