How to recognise banking scams
The patterns scammers use when pretending to be your bank.
Genuine banks will never ask for your full PIN, password, or a one-time code over the phone or by message.
A request to move money to a 'safe account' is a major scam warning sign. Don't transfer money on the caller's instructions; contact your bank directly through a trusted channel.
Urgency is a deliberate tactic. A genuine issue with your account can be checked calmly through your bank's official app.
If in doubt, hang up and call your bank back using the number on your card, not one given to you during the call.
